We are a low-key group who meet for a meal and casual games of chess. Our meetups are at least once a month at the Cosi at Dupont South (Right near the top of the South exit). Sometimes we have additional meetups on other days of the week, or near other Metro stops in the D.C. area, while keeping Cosi at Dupont South as our main meeting place.

Meet other local backgammon players who love to learn or play this ancient game. Backgammon is a game of skill, tactics and luck! One can say it is like chess with the addition of some luck and adrenalin! We will plan on meeting in local restaurants and coffee shops to add some more variety. Asian American Young Professionals DC/MD/VA is a social-networking group that studies Asian languages, plays games (Mahjong, Chinese Chess, go, etc.) and contributes to the Washington DC area community via volunteer and charity events. Regular Speed Chess Tournaments near Johns Hopkins once or twice a month. Already seven Experts and Masters have agreed to play including two Maryland State Champions. Tournament will start at 12:00 Saturday with a seven round swiss. Five minute games. Maximum of sixteen players. $15 entry fee. First $115 Second $65 and Third $30 based on 16 entrants. Meetup will show the remaining number of player slots available. After all slots are taken no more entrants. Arrive by 11:30 a.m. Free Coffee.
