Introduction: In LA, there are all-night chess tournys at a local donut shop! My skills are terribly rusty since I haven't been able to find other players in Orlando. Would like to observe a few games and analyze some plays for the first meetup or two...
What does chess signify for you?: Honing my strategy and decision-making skills.
How did you learn to play chess?: Big brother, then part of chess team in school.
What entices you to chess?: Camaraderie.
Why is chess important?: Using both sides of my brain. It really needs the exercise. :)
Who were the greatest chess players in History and why?: Kasparov, Fischer, Karpov, Capablanca... I'm currently reading a book about Emanuel Lasker; he was an amazing player despite his political and societal circumstances.
