Welcome to the Charlotte Chess Center! This group is for players of all skill levels, adults and children who want to learn and improve their game. There are thousands of people in Charlotte who want to play this awesome game, and our goal is to bring them together. Eventually I want to open an official Chess Club in Charlotte like most cities have around the world. I am starting this club with just myself and a couple of other people for now, but we are planning to grow big. One day we can have a building where people can come to play, have fun and compete on national and international levels.
These plans are for the future, for now we will meet at local coffee shops or other public places like parks. I have Chess books, boards, computer programs, and everything else that we need to play and learn. I am not a very strong player myself but I know about chess and love the game.
I also know some people who live in Charlotte and are some of the strongest players in the nation so we can get to meet them and learn from them.
So let's get started! I'm open to any comments, questions, or suggestions. So please email me, I would love to hear from you. can't wait to meet you all.
