The Phoenix Chess and Coffee Meetup
|
Meet other local chess players, drink coffee, and play chess! Anyone who enjoys chess (enjoying coffee is optional) is welcome! We like to move around and explore different coffee-related locales in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area that are friendly to chess players. The nice thing about this is that while one week we might be further away, the next week we might be literally next door to you! This should also ensure that a variety of players get a chance to play without always having to drive 30 minutes to the same set location somewhere. We also have a dedicated meetup that usually gets together at 2PM in Scottsdale on Saturdays. Feedback and ideas for new locations are welcome! Note: Chess meetups usually last a couple of hours. If you have a good chess board, please bring it! A lot of people like to bring their chess clocks, too. If you don't have a chess board, you're still welcome to come (technically, only half of the people have to bring boards for everyone to be able to play).

Our next meeting:
Chess and Coffee Meetup at the Scottsdale Coffee Plantation
Play chess and drink coffee with our group at the Coffee Plantation off of Shea Blvd, in Scottsdale! The Coffee Plantation is located near the movie theater behind the Butterfields pancake restaurant, so it's pretty easy to find. There's a connected Gelato shop next to it, too, for those who are feeling adventuresome.
Chess meetups usually last a couple of hours. If you have a good chess board, please bring it! Read more
